Caldbeck Clocks is run by antique clock enthusiast, Brett Wright. Brett was born with a silver clock key in his mouth, coming from the third generation of historians and clockmakers. His grandfather worked for Gillows of Lancaster, one of the finest clock case makers in the country. Brett's father started working on clocks in 1956 and as a freeman of the city of Lancaster and with Brett's help maintained many of church clocks in the area. Brett went into cabinet making and furniture restoration on leaving school then moved into clock repair, after a long apprenticeship the shop in Caldbeck was opened in 2004 to start his own business in the wheel house of the threshing mill. Brett is an avid collector of all things horology related but specialises in pre-war torsion clocks (400 day clocks) that he has been gathering for the last decade.
